Whiteside comes up big off bench as Heat beat Hornets by 91-84

While Hassan Whiteside might not be a starter for the Miami Heat right now, he has proved that he can very well have a major impact on the team’s performance.

The 7 feet tall Miami Heat center player who has been coming off a hip injury for the first time after he signed a 4 years contract deal for 98 million dollars back in 2016, turned the big game in his team’s favor.

Kelly Olynyk from the Miami’s side led the team with his 22 points and 11 rebounds while Whiteside helped with his 18 points and 15 rebounds along with 4 blocks to let the Heat win over the Charlotte Hornets by 91-84 on Wednesday night.

With this win, Miami Heat is now tied for the eighth spot of the playoff in the Eastern Conference rankings.

Erick Spoelstra; Miami Heat coach said, “Hassan was incredible tonight. He already had a great impact on both offensive and defensive end of the court. This is his best version.”

Whiteside said, “Whatever the coach wants me to do, I am doing it. If he wants me to start then I am going to start. If he wants me to come off the bench then I am coming off the bench.”

For Olynyk, this was a big game too who had 44 minutes of game time in this match. Down the stretch, Olynyk was particularly great as he hit a pair of 3-pointers along with grabbing a steal near the foul line to give Miami a lead by 80-67. This prompted the Miami fans to start chanting, “Let’s Go Heat”.

As for Charlotte Hornets, they were led by Kemba Walker and Frank Kaminsky who both scored 20 points each while Cody Zeller added in his 10 points and 10 rebounds for the team.

Up next, Miami Heat will host a game against the Cavs on Friday night. As for Hornets, they will be playing against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
