Griffin helps Pistons defeat Bulls by 112-104

On Friday night Bake Griffin had a bag of ice on each of his knees with his feet dipped in ice water. Andre Drummond also had such bags of ice on each of his knees. Dwane Casey the Detroit Pistons coach said that he was looking for some fighters down the stretch and two big stars from Pistons answered his call.

Griffin managed to score 16 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pistons won over the Chicago Bulls by 112-104 on Friday night. This was the fourth straight victory for Detroit Pistons.

Casey said, “The fourth showed as to what we are really made of”.

As for Drummond, he added in his 20 points with 24 rebounds as he played through the entire second half of the game. This was also Detroit’s ninth win out of their 10 games against the Chicago Bulls. Other players from Detroit like Reggie Jackson scored 21 points while Langston Galloway, the reserve player, finished for the night with his 15 points.

Griffin missed the third quarter after he had something tweaked in his leg during the early second half.

He said, “I felt fine after coming back out there. They tested me in the hallway and gave me the green light and I felt fine in the fourth quarter. So there are really no issues for me.”

As for Chicago Bulls, Zach LaVine led them with his 24 points while Otto Porter Jr. scored 23 points with Lauri Markkanen adding in his 18 points for the Bulls.

Bulls coach Jim Boylen said, “I am hoping this to be a learning point for us. We played as good in the first half as we could. When we came out in the third quarter, our energy was poor.”

Up next, Pistons will start their road trip again when they will play in Brooklyn against the Nets on Monday night. As for Chicago Bulls, they will now face the LA Lakers on Tuesday night.
