Simona Halep, Wimbledon champ goes to worlk rank No. 4 with Serena at No. 9 and Gauff 141st

Simona Halep by winning the Wimbledon championship improved her rank from the world no. 7 to world rank no. 4 on Monday in the WTA Rankings. As for the runner up of the Wimbledon, Serena Williams, she improves her rank by one spot to be at world rank no. 9 after having returned to tour for a year after the birth of her daughter.

Halep won the Wimbledon women’s singles title by defeating Serena during their Saturday’s match by 6-2 and 6-2.

As for the youngest ever main draw of the women’s singles at Wimbledon, Coco Gauff was able to reach all the way to the 4th round of the Wimbledon. With her achievement, she has improved her to be standing the world top 150.

Gauff, after making a jump of nearly 172 places from her previous rank to be at world rank no. 141 with her previous rank being 313.

Two other big ranking jumps were made by Czech player Barbora Strycova and American Lauren Davis.

33 years old Strycova became the first time oldest player of the Grand Slam event to reach the semifinals before losing against Serena Williams. She was able to rank up 22 places to be at world rank no. 32. As for ht doubles rankings, she is currently world rank no. 1 after she won the doubles title.

As for the current world rank no. 1, the spot still is held by the winner of French open, Ashleigh Barty. She is followed by world rank no. 2 Naomi Osaka and the world rank no. 3 Karolina Pliskova.

As for the WTA rankings for men’s singles the first place is still held by Novak Djokovic with 2nd place held by Rafael Nadal and the 3rd rank by Roger Federer.

As for Roberto Bautista Agut, who got defeated by Djokovic in the semifinal, was able to move up from his previous rank no. 22 to be the world rank no. 13.
