Jayson Tatum has career-high 41 to lead Boston Celtics win over New Orleans Pelicans

Brad Stevens, the coach for Boston Celtics said that giving the team a day off despite their losing streak of the season felt like the right thing he did. It seems that this day off did energize Jayson Tatum.

The forward for the Boston Celtics made 6 3-pointer shots to score his career-high of 41 pints as the Boston Celtics won over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night for a 140-105 large margin win.

With this win, the Boston Celtics have ended their 3-game losing skid. As for Tatum, this was his first performance where he scored 40 points for Celtics.

Tatum said, “Shots were going in and it felt really good. It felt as if was playing with a purpose on both ends of the out from the very start of the game. I felt as if I did the job for the team. I know we have not been playing really great as of late but it felt good to start the game right off the start.”

Enes Kanter of the Boston Celtics also scored 22 points with 19 rebounds, which makes this his season-high in both these categories. As for Gordon Hayward, he scored 19points while Kemba Walker added in 17 points along with his 7 assists.

From the New Orleans Pelicans’ side, Frank Jackson was the top scorer with his 22 points while Jaxson Hayes scored 20 points for the team.

Alvin Gentry, the coach for Pelicans said, “We were never able to have ay traction neither on offense nor on defense. They took us out of everything we were trying to do in the game.”

Up next, New Orleans will be ending its 3-game road trip with the last game on Monday against the Detroit Pistons while the Boston Celtics will host a game on Monday against the Chicago Bulls.
