Punjab Kings (PBKS) had a successful auction in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction. They were able to fill almost every gap in their squad and brought in some big names to strengthen their team for the upcoming edition of the league.

However, they also had a mishap during the auction, which has left many questioning their professionalism. Punjab Kings made a bid for young Indian player Shashank Singh and acquired him. But before the next player could be bid on, the team management stopped the process, claiming they did not need the player, but the auctioneer disagreed, indicating that the deal was final.

Here’s the video:

Shashank Singh, despite the mishap, will be playing for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024. This decision was criticized by the Jio Cinema anchor Suhail Chandok, who pointed out that the team appeared unclear in their tactics, stating “We don’t see that in the auction if you are clear with your plans.”

Shashank Singh, who was part of Sunrises Hyderabad in the IPL 2022, was released by the team ahead of the 2023 edition and did not attract any bidders in the auction last year. His future with Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024 remains uncertain, following the auction mishap.

In addition to Shashank Singh, Punjab Kings also acquired some notable players such as Harshal Patel, Chris Woakes, and Rilee Rossouw during the auction.
