They will first face Australia in three ODIs, on December 28, December 30 and January 2 (all at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium), and will put up a stronger-looking side than the one that drew the series 1-1 in Bangladesh. Ghosh and Thakur featured in the Test win over Australia, with Ghosh playing a key role with the bat and in the field, while Patil, Ishaque, Kashyap and Sadhu are among the new lot of players on the rise.
They have come in for Uma Chhetry, Priya Punia, Devika Vaidya, Anjali Sarvani, B Anusha, Meghna Singh, Rashi Kanojiya and Monica Patel.
The T20I squad is identical to the one that lost 2-1 to England prior to the two Test matches. The three games will be played in Navi Mumbai on January 5, 7 and 9.
