Nick Foles; Philadelphia Eagles quarterback voids $20m option but could be franchise tagged

Nick Foles, the QB of r the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles has decided to void his 20 million dollars contract for the 2019 season with team.

After Foles voids his 20 million dollars contract, he will need to pay the team 2 million dollars as a penalty for becoming a free agent. However, all of this does not mean the end of his time in the NFL.

Eagles still have the option to franchise tag Foles who previously led the Eagles to win the Super Bowl LII in early 2018 and also led the team into playoffs after their regular QB Carson Wentz was sidelined due to injury.

If the Eagles decide to franchise tag Foles, he will earn more than 25 million dollars in 2019 and it would also give the Eagles a chance to trade him off as an asset.

Wentz has now missed the end of the last two seasons with Eagles as he first suffered a serious knee injury back in 2017 and now again a serious season ending back in injury in 2018.
