Addison Russell; Cubs Shortstop was placed on leave by MLB following his ex-wife’s blog post on spousal abuse

Addison Russell; shortstop of the Chicago Cubs was put on eave by Major League Baseball earlier this Friday moments after her wife reportedly posted a blog post that stated that her husband physically and emotionally abused her.

The post was made by24 years old Melisa Reidy who is the former wife of Russell. She made the post on her blog and then linked it to her Instagram page on Friday morning. The allegations of this abuse are of both physical and emotional nature. Thomas Field who is the attorney of Reidy who represented her in her divorce case has officially confirmed to media that the Instagram account is really of Melissa’s.

Although Reidy’s Blog post does not specifically contains the name of Russell, has still made it on to surface after one year when MLB first opened up these abuse allegations’s investigation against Russell. At that Reidy did not cooperated with MLB during the last summer after her initial claims which she made through a friend on Instagram. Russell that that time was not punished.




Reidy’s attorney from her divorce case; Thomas Field ahs told media that he contacted Reidy early on Friday morning and that she informed her about the blog post an d sharing it on to her Instagram account which describe the physical and emotional abuse form her marriage.  Field believes that with this, MLB will once again move swiftly to gain cooperation of Reidy in this abuse investigation.

Cubs on this whole matter said that they are complaint of the decision by MLB to put Russell on leave. They are also going to cooperate with League’s investigation so that proper action can be taken.

Reidy also wrote n her blog post that she came out with this secret because lately she has been seeing lots of these cases happening around her.

She hopes that her testimony could provide encouragement and strength for other abused women to take action.
