Amir Khan says that Kell Brook will have to wait around a little bit longer for the British Battle. The reason is that he wants to first pursue his fight with the world renowned star “Manny Pacquiao”.
31 years old Amir Khan called for a fight with the Filipino multi world Champion after he defeated Carlos Vargas on points in his last fight held on Sunday in Birmingham.
The long term rival of Khan; Kell Brook watched the fight from ringside and the prompter of Kell Brook; Eddie Hearn is eager or this big domestic clash. However at the moment Khan has curbed his desire to test his skills against Kell Brooks and instead fight with Pacquiao.
Khan told the media that, “one day I want to look back on my record and say wow I beat a glob superstar like Manny Pacquiao. We do not know how much time Manny has left for him in his career but if I have got the chance to fight him next I am going to grab this opportunity with both hands”.
Talking about his destined rival Kell Brook he said, “Now the thing with Kell Brook is that he wants the fight as much as I want but he is going to wait for it. The one thing want for my and Kell Brook fight is that I want to fight him in front of huge crowd and specially in front of a UK crowd.”
Khan is frustrated about his failed attempts to land a fight against Floyd Mayweather and at the moment he wants to be active for the last few years he has in the sport.
“I already took a lot of time out for a fight that never happened. This time I am going to be much smarter. I am going to keep myself busy and keep on fighting. I have only two or three more years left in me and I am going to maximize those years”.
