Antetokounmpo scores 38 in All-Star game, but still denied MVP in defeat

Midway through the third quarter of the All-Star game, Giannis Antetokounmpo began thinking that he could be the first international payer to win the NBA All-Star Game MVP.

However, his thoughts were only fleeting when Team LeBron made a late rally and defeated Team Giannis by 178-164 on Sunday night. Although Giannis Antetokounmpo finished for the night with 38 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Durant won the MVP award.

The Milwaukee Bucks star said, “We did not win the game, that’s why I did not get the award.”

Giannis took some advice from his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo who won the two MVP award in the Greek League for two consecutive years. He came out aggressive.

Antetokounmpo said, “I am going to keep getting better. Hopeful I will win as many MVP’s as my brother.”

As for Durant, he does not doubt that this will happen.

Durant talking about 23 years old Antetokounmpo’s talent said, “’he has potential going through roof. It is scary to even think, how far he can really go. His game is still getting better but he is already in the top three MVP candidates. So to be this young and already be in an elite class at such an elite game, it is a joy to watch his progression.”

Antetokounmpo is currently the best player in the Eastern Conference after LeBron James moved to the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference.
