Anthony Joshua admits to be haunted by fear of failure in his fight against Povetkin

Anthony Joshua in an interview has admitted that he is haunted by fear of failure in his next fight against Alexander Povetkin. The fight is going to be held on September 22nd at the Wembley Stadium.

Joshua; the Britain’s heavyweight star has a record for 21 unbeaten fights to his name. In addition to his he also possesses the WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts to his Saturday night fight with Povetkin; one of the most anticipated matches of boxing this year.




However Joshua has also revealed the burden of all the expectations on his shoulder as he is preparing to give a fight of the year in front of a 90,000 fans crowd.

Joshua told media that, “they key for victory in this fight for me is the lots of pressure. While people think of wining I think about losing but I can’t afford to lose”.

He further added to his interview, “In this fight they key for my victory is relaxation, belief and having my energies intact. What I am trying to say is this that I need to have more effective and sharp punches in this fight.”

Questions were raised about Joshua’s restraint against his fight with Joseph Parker in March but the camp has only said that he wanted to show world his underrated ring skills.

To this he said to media, “no one can ever say that Joshua can’t box. They can only say that he s king of destruction, h can fight and he can knock people out. I am going to show the world that beside my old tricks I have something new in the locker. As for Joseph Parker, I can out maneuver a fighter like him”.
