Arsenal wins over Leeds by 1-0 and reaches 4th round of FA Cup

In the third round game of the FA Cup held between Arsenal and Leeds, it was Reiss Nelson that helped Arsenal to make it to the 4th round of the A Cup as the team won by 1-0. This was a splendid effort from Arsenal, who got played on Monday by the English Premier League’s 2nd tier team.

Nelson scored the goal from close range on a cross by teammate Alexandre Lacazette with only 10 minutes left to the 2nd half. This was the 2nd goal of the 20 years old striker in his 29th game appearance with Arsenal after he had 4 changes in the team following the team’s loss to Manchester United last week.

Leeds still managed to out-shot Arsenal by 15-3 and had a dominance in the 1st half and showed why the team is well placed to end their 16 years of exemption from the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta, the manager for Arsenal said, “The way they play makes it very difficult to compete with them. They play the game man-to-man and around the pitch. If you are not ready for that kind of game, then you get exposed. Still, I am very happy and I cannot wait to show it to my team. We had to react and we made some changes. The biggest of all the changes was how we made an approach in the 2nd half. It was all different.”

The draw for FA Cup 4th round was made at the Emirates Stadium before the game started.  Arsenal will now visit Bournemouth on the weekend next to play from January 25th to January 26th.

Arsenal has a lackluster performance in the English Premier League as they are sitting on the 10th spot after they suffer the struggle from firing their coach Unai Emery.

As for Leeds, their priority is to clinch one of the last 2 promotions in the FA Cup.
