Ashleigh Barty, the current world rank no. 1 was able to beat Dayana Yastremska by 6-2 and 7-5 in the finals of the Adelaide International to win the title. This is a great win for Ashleigh Barty as she now has confidence going into the Australian Open.

She, who has been waiting for a long time, will now look to secure the title of her country at this season’s first Grand Slam event. Ashleigh Barty said, “This is really incredible. I felt like this was a great tussle. I had to play my best to get this win. I love playing in Australia and I love playing at home. I cannot wait for the tournament to start in Melbourne.”
The last time Barty won against Yastremska was back in 2019 at the Miami Open.
Yastremska said, “Congratulations to Ashleigh, it was a great pleasure for me to play against the world no. 1 and I bid her good luck for Melbourne. I hope that we get to play against each other many times in the future.”
Somewhere else at the finals of Hobart International, Elena Rybakina who had failed to qualify for the Australian open last year, is now going to enter the tournament with a seed place after she won the title match. Elena Rybakina defeated Zhang Shuai by 7-6 and 6-3 to win the Hobart Intentional.
