Novak Djokovic warmed up for the semi finals while he maintains his perfect ATP Finals record by winning against Marin Cilic.
Five times champion of the season ending tournament despite assuming his spot at the top of Group Guga Kuerten prepared for his match as he defeated his opponent by 7-6 and 6-2.
For Djokovic, since the start of Wimbledon, he has lost only two of his 36 matches.
While the Croatian player did is best to maintain his form in front of the world no. 1, but it was nothing in front of the 14 times Grand Slam champion’s pressure.
Djokovic after the match said to media, “it was not easy to approach this match with 100 percent willingness to win it. However, I have been in a similar position before. This format is amazing as things can happen in group stages. Both of us really wanted to win from the first point and it was the first set that decided the tone of the whole match”.
Djokovic is now set to face Kevin Anderson in the semi finals of the ATP Finals on Saturday evening.
As for the first semi finals of the day, Roger Federer is going to face off Alexander Zverev on Saturday afternoon.
