Barracuda Championship: Collin Morikawa wins his maiden title of PGA Tour career

Collin Morikawa was able to win his career’s first PGA Tour title at the Barbuda Championships with a 3-point win.

22 years old golfer made brides on his final 3 holes that allowed him to take the title of the tournament which was held at the Monteux Golf and Country Club. At this tournament, the organizers sued the Modified Stableford scoring format which awarded players points based on the number of strokes they made on each hole.

For an albatross shot, 8 points were awarded, 5 points were awarded on an eagle, 212 points on a birdie, 0 for a par, -1 for a bogey, -3 for a double bogey. S for Collin Morikawa, he scored a total of 47 points during the 4 days of the tournament.

Collin Morikawa sacred 13 points on Saturday while 14 on Sunday as he scored 7 birdies in his bogey-free last round. He finished 3 points more than Troy Merritt and was 7 points ahead of both John Chin and Robert Streb to win the title.

Merritt had a chance to win the tournament if had managed to have an eagle on the final hole but his ball landed 12 feet away from the hole and then for two-putt for par.

The fifth-place went to Bronson Burgoon which is ahead of 6th place Tom Hoge.

With this win, Collin Morikawa has joined the likes of Matthew Wolff for being the players who secured their first PGA Tour title after coming straight out of from college. Other players to have their maiden victories on the PGA Tour this week were Dylan Fratelli and Nate Lashley.
