Billabong Pipe Masters; Kelly Slater pulls off an insane escape from wave during mid surf fall

On the North Shore of Oahu, the Billabong Pipe Masters Competition is underway. They are providing some of the best surfing conditions for this last stop on the World Surf League’s Men’s Championship Tour.

While Gabriel Medina and Julian Wilson were fighting for the World title crown; the 46 years old veteran surfer Kelly Slater was the one who pulled one of the most must-see move on the competition.




In the Kelly’s Round 3 heat against Filipe Toledo on Sunday, Slater suddenly fell off his board while he was inside the barrel. However, he managed to get back on the board and finish his ride.

Slater, the 11-times World Champion was deep inside the tube when he fell off his board but he managed to hang on and ride out of the barrel by pulling an extremely difficult yet incredibly done escape trick.

Slater knocked out the World No. 2 Toledo at the heat.

Slater is currently in the quarterfinals of the Pipe Masters competition.
