Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins started beating the Lars Eller of Washington Capitals when he celebrated seventh goal

On the opening Wednesday night match of Washington Capitals against Boston Bruins, everything went perfectly for the Capitals. Bruins suffered an embarrassing defeat by 7-0.

Brad Marchand; forward player of Boston Bruins was frustrated at the fact that Lars Eller started celebrating the seventh goal for Washington Capitals at 10:52 of the third period. On the next shift, Marchand took the chance and pummeled Lars that left Lars with a big gash on his head.

Todd Reirden; coach of th4e Washington Capitals told media that Eller was being taken care of after the game.

As for Marchand, he said to media that, “his celebration was unnecessary. He started celebrating for a game of 7-0 in front of the bench. So I let him know what’s good.”

Marchand who is two times ‘All-Star’ likes to push things to a limit. He has been also warned in his previous season by the league for “licking his opponents”.

This was the first fight of Eller and he hadn’t had much of a chance Marchand had to leave the game for instigator minor, fighting major and 10-minute misconduct. On the other hand, Eller had been given five for fighting.

Bruce Cassidy; Bruins Coach said to media about the Wednesday night’s fight, “he is a proud guy. I think that Eller’s celebration on a 7-0 goal was a little too much. It was Eller’s prerogative and Marcy let him know that it was not acceptable”.

Reirden said that he is disappointed by Marchland’s actions and is wondering why the league is not looking into it.

He said to media that, “that fight was certainly something unfortunate and I also feel unjust for the player who was not prepared for it, that is Lars. I also think that there was an early start to the fight as well.”
