Brewers score 5 home runs to send Cubs for 6th consecutive loss by 13-10

On Friday night, Brewers made use of their strong power surge to maintain their start strong over the Chicago Cubs.

Facing the Chicago Cubs for the first time in the season, Milwaukee Brewers managed to outslug the Cubs by 13-10 on Friday night. With this loss, both teams are going in the opposite directions of the early season start.

Ryan Bruan as well as Eric Thomas both scored combined 3-run homeruns each for the total 5 homeruns of the Brewers on Friday night as they handed Chicago Cubs their 6th consecutive defeat.

The other 3 homers for Brewers were hit by Hernan Perez, Yasmani Grandal and Orlando Arcia as the defending champions improved to 7-1. With this win, Brewers have won nine of their last 12 games played against Cubs which also includes the divisional tiebreak in last season.

Jose Quintana, who happened to had dominated Brewers in last 2 seasons has struggled to remain on the 32-pitch first inning for his first appearance of the season.

Jose Quintana said, “I think they ambushed me tonight.”

As for Perez, he said, “we were laying off inside the pitches that we always swing at. We were patient but had some good swings on the strikes.”

As for the Cubs, they had 3 homers for the night sit by Jason Heyward, Daniel Descalso and Willson Contreras. With this loss, Cubs are at 1-6 on the season.
