Although the NFL team Carolina panthers have seemed to avoid the worst possible outcome for their most prized player Can Newton, the status for this player is still uncertain for 1st week of NFL regular season. He sustained an injury on Thursday night.
The QB of Panthers suffered from a mid-foot-sprain in the preseason game of Panther’s VS patriots as per news from Marty Hurney; manager of Panthers.
Hurney also said that team is cautiously optimistic that Cam Newton will be able to play for the team in Week 1’s game that is scheduled against Los Angeles Rams.
Newton got hurt during the first quarter of the game after Adam Butler; the defensive tackle of the Patriots sacked him. He was first examined on the benches before being taken to the locker room and was later ruled out from playing.
Before his exit, Newton was able to complete 4 of his 6 passes for 30 passing yards.
Rivera said, “Everybody was geared up for this game. This was an opportunity to get out and play. We thought of this happening in game 1 of the regular season. So to say that if he goes to play in the Game 1 of Week 1 and gets hurt on the very same day, then what can you do? That would be a really unfortunate thing to happen.”
The MPVP of the 2015’s NFL season has a critical year in the offseason when he had to undergo shoulder surgery. Newton had been training hard this summer for a new throwing position and had not played for this purpose in the earlier preseason games of Panthers.
