Colorado Avalanche back on winning track following 4-1 win against Blackhawks

The Colorado Avalanche is right back to their winning ways following their regulation loss.

Mikko Rantanen and Ian Cole both scored a goal for Colorado Avalanche as they defeated the Chicago Blackhawks by 4-1 in their Wednesday night clash.




The other 2 goals were scored by Andre Burakovksy and Nathan MacKinnon as the Colorado Avalanche is now 9-1-1 for their last 11 games. Avalanche has lost the game against St. Louis Blues on the Monday night by 5-2 but the made a rebound to be 3 points behind the first-place St. Louis Blues for the Central Divisions’ top spot.

Burakovksy said, “We have a mindset that we never lose two games in a row. St. Louis Blues was not our best game so we needed to bounce back from that defeat.”

The marquee line of Colorado Avalanche was led by MacKinnon, Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog. Landeskog had 2 assists as the trio of player combined in 5 points for Avalanche.

Colorado is now 3-0 in games against Blackhawks for this season and has outscored their Central Division rivals by 16-5. MacKinnon said, “We were only trying to play our best game.  You never really know what the other team might just give you. I think that the best way to play is to focus on your own game.”

The only goal from Blackhawks was made by Ryan Carpenter for whom this was his 2nd goal of the season. As for Blackhawks, this loss marks their 5th one in the last 6 games. Goalie for Colorado Avalanche Pavel Francouz stopped 31 shots while Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford stopped 32 shots.

Up next Avalanche will host a game against the Carolina Hurricanes while Chicago Blackhawks will play against the Winnipeg Jets next.
