Columbus Blue Jackets won over LA Kings by 4-2

To open their 4-game West Coast road trip, Columbus Blue Jackets made a winning start against the so Angeles Kings.

Scott Harrington and Nathan Grebe both scored goals respectively in the 2nd period as the Columbus Blue Jackets won over the LA Kings on Monday night by 4-2.

The other two goals for the Columbus Blue Jackets were scored by Kevin Stenlund and Gustav Nyquist while their goalie Elvis stopped 35 shots for goal attempts from Kings, as the team now stands at 5-0-3 on their 8 road games of the NHL season so far.

Harrington, after the Columbus Blue Jackets improved their last record of road games, said “We are not, I don’t think that overly concerned with keeping these streaks alive. We are only and definitely concerned with playing in the right way. Whenever you play the game right way, your streak points also get better respectively.”

Alex Iafallo scored the goal for Kings to improve his points’ streak but it could not still save the Kings from their 3rd loss in their last 4 games.  The 2nd goal for the Kings was scored by Sean Walker along with an assist while their goalie Jonathan Quick had 20 saves.

Columbus Blue Jackets were able to score 2 goals with only 3 minutes time start during the second period to gain the lead over Kings.  Harrington’s first goal for the team and in this current NHL season allowed for Blue Jackets to be at 2-1 but Grebe then scored a goal only 7 minutes later to equalize the scoreboard. That was the 2nd goal from Grebe in his last 7 games of this NHL season.

As for Merzlikins, who was playing his 14th game for the Columbus Blue Jackets allowed for them to build up a strong stretch as he stopped all but one of the 16 shots from Kings during the 1st period.

Up next, Columbus Blue Jackets will play against the Anaheim Ducks while LA Kings will host a game against the Dallas Stars.”
