CONCACAF Gold Cup: US wins over Curacao by 1-0 to set up semifinals match with Jamaica

The US under the lead of Christian Pulisic will be heading for the semi-finals match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup after their splendid performance against Curacao.

In the second half of the game, US team was slightly in a problematic situation against the world’s 79th ranked team but still managed to outscore them by 1-0 to win the quarterfinals match with a goal in the 25th minute by Weston McKennie.

With this win, the defending champions of the tournament have extended their streak of making it to the semifinal by 9 and they are going to play their semifinals match against Jamaica on Wednesday which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee.

This has been the 10th time in a row that the US has made it to the semis and their 14th time in the last 15 tournaments.

Pulisic said, “When you move out of the knockout stages, everyone wants to move into the next round and they give their all to get to that point. Curacao also wanted 100 percent of that and you could clearly see that in the way they played tonight.”
