Doncic helps Mavs to beat Pelicans by 122-119; ends 6-game skid

Devin Harris of the Mavericks faked not once but thrice a 3-pointer shot before making a one in the firth quarter.

19 years old Luka Doncic of the Mavs also showed no hesitation when he made a final decisive play in the fourth quarter.

The Wednesday night game of basketball between Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans ended with Mavs win by 122-119. With this win, Mavericks have ended their 6-game losing streak.

Doncic was the star for the Mavericks on Wednesday night with his 21 points and especially his tiebreaking free throws with 30 seconds to the game.

Doncic, the rookie sensation drove right past the right wing of the Pelicans, Julius Randal and managed to connect both his free throws for team 121-119 lead.

Center DeAndre Jordan of the Mavs aid, “I mean, he is a rookie. He is going to have to work on some of those calls. He is a big and strong body boy who is not shy away from a contact”. DeAndre Jordan himself scored 20 points with 12 rebounds for the team.

As for the Pelicans, all of their previous five games were lost with a single digit score.

Davis said after his 23rd double-double said, “the same stuff happened again. We can’t close out a game. I thought we were fighting on the road but things are not going our way”.

Pelicans were led by Jrue Holiday who scored 25 points for the team while Julius Randle added in his 23 points for the night. Randle also shot 11- of his 13 free throws against his hometown team.

Up next, both teams will play again in New Orleans on Friday night.
