Eoin Morgan is going to captain England in their bid to win the World T20 crown to add with their World Cup

Eoin Morgan has been selected and is also committed to lead the England’s cricket team for the upcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup.

Morgan told that he was previously unsure about his future role for the team after he guided the team to win their first ever World Cup title back in May. He also admitted to the fact that the campaign had left him completely knackered.

However, after spending some time reflecting, the 33 years old skipper of the English team has decided to lead the team in their bid to win the limited overs Twenty20 World Cup title which has been previously by the team of Paul Collingwood back in 2010.

This confirmation that Morgan will be leading the English team came straight from the managing director of England’ Men’s Cricket, Ashley Giles who also said that Joe Root is going to be continuing his position as the team’s captain for the Test series despite the fact who becomes the new coach following departure of Trevor Bayliss.

Giles said, “There have been no questions asked about future of Root by me. I hope that this would remain as the most important thing right now. The important thing is that we have redressed the balance for the red and white ball and once the new coach arrives, Joe will be sitting with him and will plan the way forward. If I was Joe and we had these discussions, then we would start planning for winning the Ashes that will be held in Australia.”

As for the replacement of Bayliss before the upcoming New Zealand tour, candidates will be interviewed after a shortlist has been drawn up in about a week. If there is no appointment by that time, an interim coach will be overseeing the team for this tour.
