Grizzlies’ 5-game skid ended as they beat Lakers by 107-99

Clearly, the Memphis Grizzlies were fed up with losing and their frustration and determination both showed in the fourth quarter of the Sunday night game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

 

The Sunday night game of Memphis Grizzlies VS LA Lakers ended in 107-99 victory for the Grizzlies.

Jaren Jackson led the Grizzlies with his 27 points while Mike Comely scored 11 points in the final period added his 17 points and 8 assists for the team.

Conley talking about his team’s win, said, “We tried to do everything a little bit harder than we had been doing lately and that was what we showed tonight. Every one of the players in our team stepped up in different forms and in different fashions during different parts of the game. For us to get a good win against a good team on the road, we had to do this”.

Marc Gasol of the Grizzlies added in his 17 points with 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the team who were previously on a 4-game losing streak on road.

As for Lakers, they were led by Lebrun James who scored 22 points with his 14 rebounds and 7 assists whereas Brandon Ingram scored 20 points for the team who were previously on their 6-game winning streak at home.

James talking about the Lakers defeat said, “We just made too many mistakes tonight. No excuses are to be made. Our coverage was blown, we just had too many blown coverages down the stretch”.

Ivica Zubic of the Lakers scored 19 points whereas Kyle Kuzma scored 11 for the night as the Lakers lost for the third time in their last 4 games.

Up next, Memphis Grizzlies will host a game against Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday while LA Lakers will play against Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
