Harden runs 30-point streak to 30 as Rockets beat Mavs by 120-104

With only one minute remaining to the game, it seemed as if James Harden’s streak of 30 points games would be coming to an end.

Harden brought the ball to the court as he was enveloped by two defenders of the Mavericks near the 3-point line, so he made a pass to Chris Paul who drew the defense away. After a few dribbles, Paul turned and gave the ball back to Harden who stepped back a bit and sunk a 3-pointer over Dorian Finney to keep his streak alive.

With his 31 points on Monday night game, Harden has now scored 30 or more points in 30 straight games this season despite him having a shoulder injury during this game. Under his lead, Houston Rockets were able to defeat the Dallas Mavericks by 120-104 on Monday night.

Media asked Chris Paul if he was determined to help Harden extend his streak. Paul said, “for sure, h had 28 points at that time, so why not? We were up anyways.”

Harden in addition to his 31 points also had 8 rebounds and 7 assists. He looked a bit sow on Monday due to his strained shoulder that got injured last Saturday in Rockets game against OKC Thunder. After he sunk the last 3-pointer shot, fans started chanting “MVP, MVP”.

Harden said that he was not concerned about getting 30 points but he gives credit to Paul who gave him the ball back.

Harden said, “I was only worried about winning. They were making their shots. They were making a comeback and they had cut the lead by 10 0r 9 points. So I just wanted to get a proper shot. I was only trying to make the right play.”

Harden is now only one game away for tying up with Wilt Chamberlain’s second-longest streak of 30-points game in NBA history. Chamberlain also holds the longest 30-points game streak with 65 games in a row too.

As for Mavericks, they were led by Luka Doncic who scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and 8 assists as they lost first time against the Houston Rockets this season. Mavericks had earlier won both their games against Rockets this season.

Up next, Dallas Mavericks will host a game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night while Houston Rockets will palsy against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
