Harden’s 43 points leads Rockets to win over Memphis 113-101

While Mike D’Antoni, head coach of the Houston Rockets and Harden’s ret of the teammates were happy about Monday’s night massive win, Harden aka the ‘Beard’ was criticizing himself as he pointed out that he could have had played better.

Harden said, “I did a poor job of not handling the ball well giving them the transition points by turnovers. I need to take care of the ball more but continue to be aggressive and make plays for the team.”

Under Harden’s 43 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists for the night, Rockets were able to gain a win over the Memphis Grizzlies by 113-101.

This was the Rockets’ fifth straight win and for Harden, this was his fourth straight game in which he scored 40 or more points.

While Harden may not be impressed by his own performance, Mike D’Antoni is highly praising Harden who has led the team with fellow All-Star Chris Paul with his hamstring injury.

D’Antoni said, “I do not know as to how much better you can play as he is paying now. Defensively too. He comes up with steals and triple-doubles like it is nothing. So yeah he is playing at a different level.”

Harden has also set an NBA record with him scoring 35 points or more with 5 assists for eight straight games. He has bested the previous record holder Oscar Robertson who had his record with a seven-game streak. Harden also finished the night with his fourth Triple-Double this season making it 39th of his overall career.

As for Memphis Grizzlies, they were led by Kyle Anderson who scored 20 points for the night while Mike Conley added in his 19 points for the team. This was the seventh loss for the Grizzlies in their last 9 games.

Up next, Memphis Grizzlies will host a game against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night while Houston Rockets will visit the Golden State for a match on Thursday night.
