India wins by 125 runs to end Windies’ World Cup hopes

India was able to take another easy step on their way for the semi-finals of the world cup after they secured a 125-run win over West Indies at Old Trafford.

Virat Kohli, as always, led his team with his splendid batting as he scored 72 runs allowing him to score his 4th half-century of the tournament in a row while MS Dhoni was able to score 56 runs for India.

Both players were made to work hard against Windies bowlers like Kemar Roach who got 3 wickets giving away 36 runs and Jason Holder who got 2 wickets while giving away 33 runs.

Still, under the pressure of these fast bowlers, India was able to set a target of 268-7 for the Windies to chase.

After their losses, Windies were never able to recover and their entire batting order crumbled as the team lost the match at 35th over whilst making 143 runs.

With this defeat, Windies who already had no hope for the semis will now exit the world cup. As for India they have 11 points and they will make it to the semis for sure and to solidify their position, they still have 3 more games to go.
