Irving scores 17 points in return as Celtics win over the sloppy Nets by 116-95

The Boston Celtics were able to handle the ball really well and they were helped out a lot by the sloppy Brooklyn Nets.

Kyrie Irving who was a making a  return for the Celtics after missing two games with an eye injury, scored 17 points to lead not only 8 of the Celtics’ players scoring in double digits but also to in the game by 116-95 on Monday night.

Players from Celtics side like Jayson Tatum scored 16 points whereas l Horford, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Morris, and Marcus Smart scored 12 points each for the team’s win. This was the Boston Celtics’ third straight win.

In addition to winning this game, Celtics had 37 assists on their 47 baskets. This was their fourth straight game with 30 or more assists.

Irving said, “It is just about moving the ball and moving the bodies while trying to create opportunities for each other.”

As for the Brooklyn Nets, they were led by Rodion Kurucs who scored 24 points while Spencer Dinwiddie added in his 15 points and Kenneth Faried scored13 points with 12 rebounds for the team. This was Nets’ fourth loss in their last 16 games.

Coach Kenny Atkinson of the Nets, said, “That was kind of old Nets. That had been our biggest problem since last year and the beginning of this year.”

Up next, Brooklyn Nets will host a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday while Boston Celtics will play a game against Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
