Jazz pull a win over Blazers by 117-96

Utah Jazz are now known of their tough defense which starts with Rudy Gobert.

Rudy seems to maintain the edge this season which earned him the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award last NBA season. His energy is getting contagious for the team as they are proving to be tough opponents for other teams.

The Christmas night game between Utah Jazz VS Portland Trail Blazers was the proof of team’s defense as they won over the Blazers by 117-96.

Gobert scores a total of 18 points along with 14 rebounds and his season-high 7 blocks for the Jazz. Gobert made a defensive effort that resulted in Blazers to shoot below 39 percent from the floor, thus making Blazers the 11th team to score under 100 points against the Utah Jazz this season.

Gobert said, “Over the last few games, pour mindset has totally changed. We want to play defense and we are having fun playing the defense. It changes the way we play.”

Other players from Jazz like Donovan Mitchell scored 19 points while Joe Ingles scored 15 points with his 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the team.

With this win, the Jazz has won their fifth game in the last six home games while shooting 55 percent from the floor. Jazz have maintained the record of shooting 50 percent or more in their last 10 games this season.

Trail Blazers were led by Damian Lillard who scored 20 points for the team while Evan Turner scored 12 points. This is the Blazers’ second defeat against the Utah Jazz in just five days.

Lillard said, ‘they are a great team with really good defense. They me you work on the offense. You got to compete with them on the offensive end”.

Blazers will now play against Golden State Warriors on Thursday while Utah Jazz will host a game at home against Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
