Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin got into a fight following the NASCAR playoff race held at Martinsville

At the playoff race of NASCAR, tempers started flaring on the pit road. The two of the prominent drivers of the NASCAR at the First Data 500 held at the Martinsville Speedway got into a fight.

Denny Hamlin, who had won the playoff race at the Kansas and Joey Logano who is the defending champion of the Cup Series, got into a shoving and fighting following a heated conversation between the pair.

The discussion between the two was a calm one at first but then suddenly got physical as while walking away, Logano patted Hamlin in an aggressive manner on his shoulder. Hamlin who finished at 4th place was not at all pleased by this as he turned after Logano.  Several of the crew members at the spot intervened and saved Hamlin who was on the ground.

Hamlin said, “We were having only a discussion and everything about it was civil. And then as Joey usually does, he started pushing a little and then runs away. That is who Joey is. He is scared. Do you want to go? He said and I said yes, I am here. And then he ran away.”

As for Logano, he said that he was angered by the move in-race from Hamlin where he rammed him into the wall which resulted in his tire to be cut.

Logano said, “I only wanted to talk to him about it as I was really frustrated. He came off the corner as if he did not have a car on the outside. It ruined our big day. We had a sure shot at the win.”

Logano further said, “I just wanted to see what he was going to say but he was not apologetic at all. This is more frustrating when someone behaves like this. I only wanted to see what his thoughts had been and it was not the answer I was looking for.”

Logano finished at 8th place in this race whereas the 1st place was taken by Martin Truex Jr.
