LeBron James has made himself a great player with his ability to carry his team through all the hard time and now into his 17th career season, he has still now slowed down.
James led the LA Lakers with his 25 points along with 10 assists and 11 rebounds for making his season’s 6th triple-double to lead Lakers’ 96-87 victory over the Orlando magic on Wednesday night.
With LA Lakers being 22-3 on the season, they are enjoying their best season start since the season of 1985-86 as they also tie with Milwaukee Bucks for the best season record of the NBA. Anthony Davis also helped with his 16 points as well as his 12 rebounds while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 15 points to allow LA Lakers to win 13 of their last 14 games.
Still, it was James who starred in this game with his final quarter performance as he broke the 71-71 tie early in the last quarter.
Orlando had made a late rally to make the score tie at 71 all from their 3-pointers scored by Michael Carter-Williams with only 11 minutes to the game.
Then James moved and made a comeback for the LA Lakers on their next 3 possessions which were hitting Avery Bradley for a layup, Alex Caruso for the corner 3-pointer and finally Jared Dudley for one more wide 3-pointer.
Caruso said of James, “He is the best in the world for this very reason. Him just getting to the paint causes many bodies to draw that we are then open for the backside. He creates a lot of attention to himself so it is then up to the rest of us to play and we did that job splendidly tonight.”
Magic’s were led by Jonathan Isaac with his 19 points which he scored during 2nd half while Evan Fournier scored 18 points and Aaron Gordon scoring 14 points along with 14 rebounds. Mo Bamba also added his 13 points for the Orlando Magic.
Next will be the road game for LA Lakers on Friday against the Miami Heat. As for Magi, they will be playing a home-game on Friday night against the Houston Rockets.
