In the Serie A match of Inter Milan VS Cagliari, Romelu Lukaku scored 2 goals as Inter Milan won the game by 4-01 on Tuesday night. With this win, Inter Milan has reached the quarterfinals of the Serie A.
Inter Milan, which won the trophy of Serie A back in 2011, is now going to face the winner of the Wednesday game between Fiorentina and Atalanta.
Inter Milan donated the game from the very start of it as they gained the lead with only 22 seconds into the game. That goal was scored by Lukaku who took advantage of the error from the midfielder of Cagliari Nahitan Nandez.
Lukaku then again scored a goal and thought to have doubled the team’s lead only later 10 minutes of his first goal, but it got ruled as offside.
Inter was not able to extend their lead until the 22nd minute following a bundle cross from Borja Valero from the close range. He had originally struck the ball on the underside of the crossbar but the managed to turn in that rebound.
The 2nd goal from Lukaku came after the halftime before Christian Oliva scored one goal for Cagliari in efforts to reduce the deficit. However, by Andrea Ranocchia’s goal later on, Inter Milan had a 3-goal advantage only nine minutes of Cagliari’s first goal.
Another match of Serie A held on Monday between Parma and Lecce, Parma won by 2-0 to reach the 7th spot in the league’s standings.
The two goals for the host were scored by Simone Iacopone and Andreas Cornelius respectively during the 2nd half. They had already defeated Atalanta by 5-0 in their previous meeting.
Iacopone scored his goal with a header shot and Cornelius was able to move the rebounded ball on a shot from Juraj Kucka.
As for Lecce, they are still one point above the dropping zone.
