Miami Dolphins 27-24 New England Patriots: Patriots lose the division’s No 2 seed to Kansas City Chiefs

The last regular game of the AFC East held between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins ended in a stunning 27-24 loss for the Patriots. With this win, the Pats who were hoping to have the no. 2 seed in the division lost it to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick made a 5-yard toss to the Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki with only 24 seconds left to the 4th quarter that allowed for the Miami Dolphins to beat the host in the game.

Patriots, who had started the season with an impressive record of 8-0 now finish the regular season at 12-4. They could have been able to get the playoff bye for the 1st round if they had won this game against the Miami Dolphins. But now the Pats’ defeat along with the win of Kansas City Chiefs over the LA Chargers has dropped them to no. 3 seed spot. With this, the Chiefs will get a first-round playoff bye week while the Patriots will have to play in the wild card round.

As for the Miami Dolphin, who started the season with 0-7 record and now ended it with 5-11 record for the regular season has won their first game against the New England Patriots since 2008.

Tom Brady, the QB for the Pats had 221 passing yards along with 1 interception and 2 TDs. Despite this loss, the Pats are now 15-2 in the home games played against Miami Dolphins.

As for the QB of Dolphins, Fitzpatrick was able to complete 28 of his 41 passes for his 320 passing yards along with 1 TD and o interceptions. DeVante Parker, the wide receiver for the Dolphins had impressive performance in this game as he made 8 catches for a total of 137 yards.
