Miles Woods has been reported to have a new contract for four years with NJ Devils.
The news was first announced by General manger of NJ Devils; Ray Shero who said that wood ended his holdout with this new 11 million dollars deal for four years.
The AAV for Wood is going to be 2.75 million dollars which breaks down to 2.5 million dollars for this season, 2.5 million dollars for 2019-2020, 2.5 million dollars for 2020-2021 and 3.5 million dollars for 2021-2022’s season.
According to the contract rule, Wood would also be eligible for a one more year as an RFA at the time of his contract deal ends. The roans is that he played a game in 2015-2016 which also counted as first season of his entry level contract.
Wood is expected to be joining the team for a practice this Sunday at the Barabbas Health Hockey house located in Newark.
Shero told media in a statement, “We are really excited to have Woods under our contract for next four years. He is going to be the big part of what we are building for NJ Devils due to his unique play style. He is going to fit in perfectly in our plan for now and for future.”
23 year sold Woods made his debut from Boston College and for professional hockey he had a breakout in 2017-2018’s season where he was able to score 19 goals, 13 assists while having 84 minutes of penalty with a minus 6 rating.
With the lengthy contract negotiations done, Woods is going to be the wonderful addition to Devils’ lineup at the opening day.
