Montae Nicholson; Washington Redskins safety faces assault and battery charges

Washington Redskins safety player Montae Nicholson faces the assault and battery charges along with charges of being drunk in public.

According to the report of Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia, deputies were called at local retail and residential development on Tuesday at around 2 AM for breaking up a fight.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find two victims, a man, and woman. According to the victims, 23 years old Nicholson and 24 years old Sydney A. Maggiore assaulted them.

Police determined that Nicholson assaulted the man while Maggiore assaulted the woman.

Nicholson has been released on bail of 1978 pounds while Maggiore is still in jail. Maggiore had been charged with malicious wounding in addition to her assault and battery charges. This was why she was not granted bail.

Redskins’ spokesperson Tony Wyllie said to media, “we are aware of the arrest of Nicholson. We are currently gathering evidence and will not comment any further.”

Nicolson was drafted back in 2017, as the first round draft pick up. He is playing in his second NFL season. In the past 14 games, he has 41 combined tackles with one pass defended.
