Nats win by 4-0 to ruin home opener for weary Mets

New York Mets, since the opener had not much time to rest and thus were no match for the Nats’ Stephen Strasburg.

The pinpoint Noah Syndergaard managed to outmatch Noah Syndergaard, while rookie Victor Robles scored a homer for Washington until the 9th innings to let Nationals beat Mets by 4-0 on Thursday.

Strasburg said, “Just executing the game plan. I think the biggest thing is to never take a pitch off.”

Following a 5-1 trip at the start of the season, Mets arrived at New York 2 am in the morning following their 6-4 win in Miami.

However, after arriving in the Queens and 11 hours later, they were once again put on the field. Their lineup looked sleepy as they striked out 14 times.

Syndergaard, who flew to New York before his teammates said, “I do not think that we were in the best position to win a ballgame based on the sleep and travel conditions of the rest of our team.”

Syndergaard was expecting either a day game in Miami or a night game at home. He said, “It would have been nice.”
