In the Monday night football game of New Orleans Saints VS. Washington Redskins, Saints came out victorious with 43-19. Drew Brees of the Saints broke the Peyton Manning’s record for being the best NFL all Time leading passer.
Brees was able to break the Manning records of 71940 yards by making a splendid 62-yard touchdown pass to the rookie Saints player; Tre’Quan Smith during the second quarter. This was one of the three passing TDs by Drew Brees on Monday night football.
Brees made into the game with only 201 passing yards required to move him past the record of Brett Favre and Manning on the All-Time Leading Passers’ list. He managed to reach that mark during halftime with his 363-yard game in which he completed 26 out of 29 passes.
After the record was broken, officials of the league stopped the game to hand over the ball to Pro Football Hall of Fame officials standing on the sidelines. Fans at the Superdome gave a standing ovation to the newborn hero.
Another main advantage for New Orleans Saints on the Monday night football was the return of their running back Mark Ingram after serving his four-game suspensions.
