Neymar scores 2 two goals but PSG VS Monaco French League game ends in 3-3 draw

No matter what PSG did against Monaco in their French League game held on Sunday, they were never able to win the game but had to make patience with a 3-3 draw. Neymar scored 2 goals in the late rally for PSG but it was all for naught.

PSG is currently 5 points ahead of the 2nd placed Marseille in the French League standings with the PSG still having one game to be played against Monaco on Wednesday.

Robert Moreno, who was in charge of Monaco in his first French League game, replaced the previous manager Leonardo Jardim. His team made impressively twice from behind and were near the brink of victory against the PSG.

Neymar opened the scoring board from PSG’s side with a 3rd-minute goal as he controlled the pass from teammate Marco Verratti on the chest and then kicked it to go inside the net.

However, the score was made even following a goal from Gelson Martins who took advantage of the fact that PSG’s goalkeeper Keykor Navas had bundled up with Ben Yedder. The 2nd goal from Monaco was scored during the 12th minute that alarmed PSG.

The team moved from Monaco’s penalty area as Ben Yedder collected the pass deep inside the PSG area and then shuffled past one of their defenders and then beat Navas to make a curling netter. This was the 14th goal from Yedder in this season of the French League.

Monaco could have been 3-1 early on if the shot from Keita Baldé had not placed too close to PSG’s goalkeeper.

They were punished for this mistake instantly by PSG with Neymar receiving a pass from teammate Angel Di Maria to make a curling shot that went straight in the net during the 24th minute to make the score 2-2.

SG then again gained the lead during the 42nd minute as he sent the ball past Monaco’s goalkeeper to have his French League’s 10th goal.

After gaining the lead PSG slacked in their game and they were punished when Monaco’s substitute player Islam Slimani scored the game-tying final goal during the 72nd minute.
