Padres win over Diamondbacks by 7-6 after blowing late lead

The San Diego Padres managed to have a big lead late in the game that cost Pedro Avila his first major league debut victory.

Padres managed to win late is a testament as to how surprising of a season this is going to be.

Manuel Margot managed to strike a tiebreaking homer in the 8th inning as Padres managed to bounce back after blowing the 5-run lead to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by 7-6 on Thursday night.

Andy Green, Padres manager said, “You give up a 5 runs lead and Margot then ahs a big hit. He is just like any other guy for the team coming off the bench and doing good things. That was just a great win for the team.”

As for Avila, he was impressive in his debut game with Diamondbacks as he managed to have a shaky 1st inning but then having 4 hits along with 5 strikeouts in the 5 innings.

From Diamondbacks side, Archie Bradley managed to strike out 2 batters of the Padres in the 8yth inning before Margot came and struck his first homerun of the season.

Bradley said, “It was one pitch that managed to get away. This is the role we are in the back end over here. You simply cannot let that happen.”

Padres with this win have now won 6 of their last 8 games and now they hold the first place in the NL West.
