England Test captain Ben Stokes shared a positive update about his knee ahead of the Test series against India. He mentioned that his rehab after the surgery is going well and he is right on the track.
Ben Stokes after the ICC World Cup 2023 underwent knee surgery. The all-rounder’s left knee has been troubling him a lot for the last few years and it forced him to bowl less. However, he finally underwent treatment and got things right ahead of the all-important Test series against India.
Ben Stokes underwent a successful surgery on November 29 and since then he has been in rehabilitation. He recently shared an update about his knee and is back in the gym. The all-rounder shared his experience post-surgery, stating that the first 2 weeks after his operation were all about icing to get the swelling down.
Ben Stokes hoped that in the next 2 weeks, he would be in a good position. Taking to his Instagram account, he explained:
“2 week post knee op. First 2 weeks was just relentless icing to get the swelling down and very small amounts of exercises to keep my knee moving. Great to be able to start some work in the gym, hoping for good progression over the next 2 weeks. Rehab been going really well.”
Ben Stokes is expected is get fully fit ahead of the Test series against India. However, the all-rounder will most likely not bowl in the Test series. The all-rounder also played only as a batter in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Ben Stokes also recently pulled out of the IPL 2024. He was acquired by Chennai Super Kings for INR 16.25 crore ahead of the IPL 2023. However, to keep his workload in mind ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, he opted out of the tournament.
Ben Stokes to captain as England announce squad for the Test series against India
England will be playing a five-match Test series in India, starting 25th January. ECB recently announced a squad for the Tests and named Ben Stokes as captain
