Petra Kvitova, the Australian Open finalist, in the trial of the man who allegedly attacked her with a knife at her home, has testified in the Czech Republic.
Kvitova, after the attacker at her home in Prostejov last December, she had to undergo surgeries to her playing left hand.
It almost took the tennis star five months before she could play. Kvitova’s testimony was required by the lawyer against the 33 years old alleged criminal named Radim Zondra.
Kvitova, who was trying to avoid facing the suspect, did not testify in the courtroom of the regional court in Brno but testified from a separate room.
Although the two-time Wimbledon champion did not talk to media, she relayed through her spokesperson to media that she is happy that all of this is behind her.
Since Kvitova’s second Wimbledon title in 2014, she managed to reach her first Grand Slam final 10 days ago in Melbourne where she lost to finalist and the winner of the Australian Open Naomi Osaka in three-set thriller match.
