Rickie Fowler; at the TPC Scottsdale, suffered a roller-coaster back-nine before he stumbled over the line to pip Branden Grace to win the Phoenix Open title.
Fowler, who was cruising for his first win in the past two years, held a five shot advantage. The tournament took a turn against Fowler after his triple bogeyed 11 and bogeyed 12 just as Grace made back-to-back birdies to take the lead.
However, then Fowler birdie the 15th and 17th whereas Grace drove his ball into the water penultimate hole. Fowler, the American, then scrambled a par at the last as he completed a three-over 74. With this, he managed to make two-shot win and his fifth PGA Tour Title.
Fowler, the fan favorite was starting the day with a four-shot advantage but the wet and cool weather made tough for him to score and he soon made a mess at the fifth hole as he made double bogeys.
