Pulisic leads US’s 3-1 semifinal victory over Jamaica at CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals

Christian Pulisic leads the Team US’s win over Jamaica at the semifinals match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup over Jamaica by 3-1. With this win, the US has set up a match against Mexico for the Gold Cup title since 2011.

Pulisic scored 2 goals during the 2nd half of the game while the third goal was scored by Weston McKennie as the US won over Jamaica by 3-1 on the semifinal match held on Wednesday.

The crowd of 28473 at the Nissan Stadium was chanting only one thing during the final few minutes of the game, “We Want Mexico.”

McKenzie said, “This is now going to be a fun game and I think that’s what fans want. You have heard them say it, We want Mexico. I think we want it too. I think we are also ready for it and we are looking eagerly for it.”

The finals of the CONCACAF will be held on Sunday in Chicago in what is going to be tripleheader soccer final.

The US will be playing the final against Mexico while Women’s soccer team will play Women’s World Cup final against the Netherlands in a match held in Lyon, France while Brazil is going to play the Cop America final against Peru in Rio.

At the moment, US is 6-4 in the finals of Gold Cup and 1-4 against Mexico., they have won only one final against Mexico back in 2011 with three losses being in years 1993, 1998, 2009 and 2011. At the moment, the US are the defending champions with 10 Gold Cup title wins in a row.

Gregg Berhalter, US’s coach said, “we have already started our preparation for this match and have already started watching pour opponents for a few days now. It is a good team which has good players and good quality concept and they also play with a lot of intensity. They are able to hurt teams. But still they are vulnerable and we plan to hurt them also.”
