Rafael Nadal aiming to be ‘100 percent fit’ at Australian Open

Rafael Nadal is confident about this health condition that he will be fit for the Australian Open. Nadal is chasing after his 18th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open next year.

Nadal was forced to retire from the US Open semi-final after suffering a right knee injury back in September which was his last competitive match of the year.

To tackle this issue, the 32 years old Spaniard underwent ankle surgery in November.

When media asked Nadal to rate his fitness level in between 1 to 10, he said, “I don’t know, I am not good with numbers.”

He still said, “I only started training two weeks ago and I am only still taking small steps forward. The thing I am making sure is that I am moving forward and not a step backward. I know that I have time to be 100 percent ready for Melbourne.”

Nadal previously won his 17th Grand Slam title in June at the French Open. He says that he is happy with his progress and he wants to prove himself in the competitions.
