Nadal after winning his Third tour title of the season said, “for me to start the match in a good shape was very important. Medvedev came to match playing so great and also after playing a lot of matches. But for me, it was a different story. I had only played 3 matches on these hard courts. Still, I think that I played a great first game. He had a breakpoint and I also played well. This was my best match of this week without any doubts.”
With these straight-sets victory, Nadal has managed to defend his hardcourt title for the very first time in his career.
With Nadal now getting 1000 ATP ranking points, he will now be finishing as the world rank no. 1 and will also move in the 1st position of the TP race to London.
