Rantanen leads Colorado Avalanche 7-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks

For Mikko Rantanen, it took him a total of 6 weeks to make recovery from his injury and he only needed few minutes for showing that he has not missed his beat in the Colorado Avalanche VS Chicago Blackhawks game on Saturday night.

Rantanen scored 1 goal along with 3 assists as he made a return to Colorado Avalanche’s lineup after he missed 16 games of this NHL season following an injury. His goal along with 2 goals each from Joonas Donskoi and Nazem Kadri allowed for the Avalanche’s to win over Blackhawks by 7-3.




These 4 points for Rantanen was his season-high as he came to the ice only for 10 minutes and 42 seconds.

Nathan MacKinnon, center for the Colorado Avalanche said, “He is really amazing.  He makes everybody look really good on ice. He is undoubtedly one of the best hockey players in the world and he is still so young.  He is only going to be far better than he is right now.”

Donskoi also added 2 assists while MacKinnon scored 1 goal with 2 assists along with Tyson Jost also scoring the 7th goal to allow Colorado to win their 2-game set. Earlier on Friday, Colorado Avalanche also recorded win over Chicago Blackhawks by 5-2.

Donskoi said, “From the last 2 to 3 games we have been playing really good hockey. We have managed to find the back of the net and are scoring lots of goals.  A lot of the guys in the team have been able to put the puck in opposing team’s net. So, yes, it is all good.”

Up next for the Chicago Blackhawks is a game on Monday night which they will host against the St. Louis Blues. As for the Colorado Avalanche, they will play their next game on Wednesday night against Toronto.
