Ronald Acuña Jr., the Phenom batter of Atlanta Braves MLB team can make the home runs look like something effortless. On Sunday he stuck a ball that he thought was a homer but was not able to clear the fence on Sunday’s game against Dodgers. His lack of effort was not liked by his team and he was then benched by the batter’s box.
The Braves were trailing behind the Dodgers by 3-0 during the 3rd inning and Ronald Acuña Jr. then stuck a ball that hit against the wall. He started walking for a homerun tort after but was only able to reach the first base.
To make the play even worse, Ronald Acuña Jr. then tried to steal the 2nd base and was thrown out.
After the inning ended, the manger of team Brian Snitker benched Acuña and sent in his replacement Adam Duvall.
Snitker said, “This is not acceptable here. He name on the front is more important than the name written on the back of a jersey. You cannot let your team down like that.”
After the game, 21 years old Acuña seemed really apologetic.
Acuña said via an interpreter, “there is simply no excuse for it. I just looked at it and I said Of Course. He is the manager and I am just a player. I will respect his decisions in the end.”
So far Acuña has been one of the top hitters of Braves and MLB when he ranked first in the Majors back in August. He scored 20 runs and also had 10 homers and 20 RBI.
With his current hot streak, he is in talks for being the new NL MVP. So far this season, he has had 35 home runs and only needs another stolen base to be the first player in this season with 30 home runs and 30 steals.
