Rose’s last second jumper allows for Detroit Pistons to beat New Orleans Pelicans by 105-103

Derrick Rose might be 31 years old and he might have taken a lot of beating in the NAB but still, the 2011’s MBVP of NBA showed once more what he can still do in a  game as he leads Detroit Pistons’ win with a  last-second jumper shot.

Rose scored the 14-foot jumper shot with only 0.3 seconds left to the game as he scored 21 points, 17 of which were made in the 4th quarter, to lead the Detroit Pistons win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night by 105-103.

Rose said, “I do not brag or boast about this but I still have many goals I need to fulfill.” Rose’s performance was amazing considering that he has undergone many physical problems like the ACL tear that only allowed him to play 5 games in the last 5 years.

Rose said, “I know that overall where is stand as a person or as a player and I really believe in myself.  That is where it all really starts, with me believing in my own self and then going to the organization and playing for a team that believes in me as well. I believe that this is a start.”

With the game being tied at the 103 points between Detroit Pistons and the Pelicans, Pistons tried their best as they provided for an isolated play for Rose to make the shot on.  He then dribbled past the Jrue Holiday, who is not only Pelican’s but also one of the league’s best defenders.

Rose then drove into the lane as he spanned to the right and then made the jumper shot over the stretched arms of Holiday.

Holiday said of that last shot, “he has really everything in him.  I think that this was a great play on his part.  I am not going to be taking anything for him. He is a really great player and that shot he made was a really tough one.  There was nothing really I could do to defend it.”

Next for Detroit Pistons is the Thursday night game against the Dallas Mavericks while Pelicans will play on Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.
