Savannah Marshall, the amateur boxing talent from Britain has signed a promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing of Eddie Hearn.
The 28 years old undefeated boxer who is being trained by Peter Fury has gained 6 wins in a row after getting herself declared as a professional fighter previously at the major blockbuster bill of Conor McGregor VS Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in 2017’s fight held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
She is also the only female boxer to have beaten Claressa Shields who is currently the undisputed champion for the middleweight world title. The British fighter defeated the American rival in the World Amateur Championships held in China back in 2012 to win the gold medal.
Talking about her deal with the Matchroom boxing, she said, “I cannot be more happy to announce that I am teaming up with Matchroom Boxing and Sky Sports which ahs other great fighters like Hughie Fury. I am really blessed to have a chance to work again with Adam Smith who mentored me for my achievements with Team GB. I would also like to thank my coach Peter Fury along with Mick Hennessy and Eddie Hearn who made this dream a reality. With this platform now, I am aiming to show the world whole another level of female boxing.”
As for Eddie Hearn, he said, “I am certainly delighted to have Savannah on our team. This is another great signing for us. I previously saw her at the GB squad where she was really exceptional as she won the amateur gold for the first-ever women’s world boxing championships. She also represented GB well in the 2012’s Rio Olympics.”
